Child Care Subsidy(CCS)
- The government Child Care Subsidy (CCS) aims to make early learning more affordable; however, we understand it’s not always easy to navigate the CCS system, that’s why we are here to help and make it seemingly easy to navigate. Sharaf Family Day Care is approved under Family Assistance Law to receive CCS on behalf of families. CCS is paid to Sharaf Family Day Care and we pass it on to families as a fee reduction. Families pay the difference between the care fee and the subsidy amount. There are important rules about the fees we charge the families. To find more about Child Care Subsidy, please visit the Department of Education, Skills and Employment website https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/services/centreli nk/child-care-subsidy
Care Fee
- Sharaf Family Day Care Educators set their own fees. Some educators may provide food or nappies as well as the care of your child. The fees for care vary from $10.00 to $14
Gap Fee
- Families who receive CCS are required to make a co-contribution to their child care fees under Family Assistance Law. They do this by paying the difference between the provider’s fee and the CCS amount. This is known as the out-of-pocket or gap fee. Services Australia balances CCS payments after each financial year to ensure families are paid the right amount.
FEES PAYMENTS
Absence
Child Care Subsidy is payable for up to 42 absence days for a child in a financial year for sessions of care a child is enrolled in and did not attend, but only for sessions of care where an individual still incurs a genuine fee liability to pay for the care. A reason does not
need to be provided for a child’s initial 42 days of absence. Once 42 absence days have occurred in a financial year, Child Care Subsidy can only be paid for any additional absences where they are taken for a reason set out in Family Assistance Law. Dallas Family Day Care will ask the reason and supporting documents to submit additional absences Families are not entitled to receive CCS when care begins or ceases in an absence. This means a child must be in care on the first day of booked care and the last day of booked care (including the notice period).Parents/guardians must ensure their child attends their last day of care. If an absence is submitted, the full fee for the day will be charged until the last actual attendance.
Holiday
Educators are not required to provide care on public holidays however if they do, fees will be charged as a set in the Educator
Fee Schedule. Standard fees and booked hours are payable on allabsences, including public holidays, to maintain secured
placement.Educators are not required to hold a place for families who do not pay the full absence fees. If parents decided to go on
the long holiday 2 weeks’ notice must be provided to the Sharaf Family Day Care.
Educator Availability
If the educator is unavailable to provide the care – no fee is charged.
Invoices and receipts
The Family Day Care service will collect gap fees on behalf of educators. Invoices will be issued fortnightly, and receipts will be provided upon payment. All payments are processed electronically, as Sharaf Family Day Care does not accept cash under any circumstances.
Statement of Entitlement
Each fortnight families will be sent a Statement of Entitlement outlining the care used, total fees, Care Subsidy, and the parent portion of the fee. The parent portion is to be paid by families on receipt of this statement.
If any adjustments are made to any fortnights prior to the current fortnight a Parent/Guardian Advice will be provided to outline these adjustments and any debits or credits that apply. Payments will need to be adjusted between the Educator and parent/guardian accordingly.
Financial Difficulties
If a family is experiencing financial difficulties, a suitable payment plan may be arranged with the service provider.
